MFT Shanker Scholarship Program:

The MFT Executive Board has established five $1,500 scholarship awards named in
honor of Albert Shanker, former President of the American Federation Teachers.
High school seniors who are dependents of MFT members are eligible to apply for
the MFT Shanker Scholarships. Students must fill out an application form and
return it to the MFT office by Friday, January 6, 2006. "Click" here for the application.

The dependent student must also arrange with their high school guidance office
or principal to take the Massachusetts AFL-CIO Scholarship exam. The exam will
be given on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at those high schools who request
scholarship exams from the Massachusetts AFL-CIO. Students attending school
outside Massachusetts should have their guidance office notify the Massachusetts
AFL-CIO of their wish to participate in the exam in sufficient time to allow
delivery of exam materials.
